SMAPの木村拓哉が主演する新連続ドラマ『南極大陸』（10月期スタート、TBS系）のヒロインを、綾瀬はるかが務める。

同ドラマは、TBS開局60周年記念の集大成として放送される大作。昭和30年代を舞台に、日本復活の扉を開くため、愛する人の想いを胸に南極大陸に命がけで挑んだひとりの若き学者と、彼の運命を共にした仲間と19頭の樺太（からふと）犬との愛と絆を描いた物語だ。

今回綾瀬が演じるのは、木村扮する第一次南極越冬隊副隊長で地質学の研究者・倉持岳志への想いを秘め、献身的に支えていく義理の妹・高岡美雪。綾瀬は「撮影現場は、過密なスケジュールの中、笑顔がいつもあって、こういう現場に出会えたこと、この作品に参加させてもらったことを嬉しく思っています。観ていて 本当に元気が出る、そしてまた頑張ろうと思えるような熱い物語になっていると思いますので、ぜひご覧いただきたいです」とコメント。また、『MR. BRAIN』（同系）以来、綾瀬と2年ぶりにタッグを組む木村は「やっぱ綾瀬さんは最強ですね。相変わらず最強です。いつもヒヤヒヤしてますけど（笑）」 と語っている。
